Oh That's Mineby sudhiComment by Citadel: Greetings from the critique club!
This shot has a lot to offer in it in terms of visual interest. The musculature on the players is brought out well with the black and white conversion. There is a lot of action happening here and the slight blur of some of the players works well here. There is some noise in the shot but considering the high iso that was required to capture this image there wasn't a lot that could done to counteract it aside from the noise reduction used in post. The noise actually works somewhat favorably as well giving this a "chaotic" feel to it.
The composition works well though with such action its hard to really have much say in it. As mentioned in previous comments, it is unfortunate that the player behind the subject is also wearing a white shirt. This creates a bit of a visual "blob". While somewhat centered, the lines of the main subject's legs draw your eye across the frame to ultimately come to the soccer ball.
The exposure is pretty well done considering the brightness of the white shirt.
There is a spot (dust spot) right by the left hand of the far right player. Cloning it out would definitely help.
The challenge: Certainly with an international audience there is going to be a lot of soccer shots. This one is quite unique however with the black and white conversion. It also does a good job of demonstrating action. |

Ancient Mathby sudhiComment by KaDi: Greetings from the Critique Club!
At first view, I only say a circle of leaves on a blank table...then I noticed the Pi configuration. Though the title helps point in the direction of your theme, it wasn't until I read eqsite's thoughtful comment that I finally "got it". I guess sometimes we all need a little help. :) Is it "uninspired" as one commetor wrote? No. Clearly not. But it is a straight on shot that does take a little work to get to the meaning.
On it's own, it feels like an unfinished idea. The lighting from the side helps to add texture to the leaves but overall it feels flat...mostly evenly lit with little for the eye to explore. To capture the idea of "ancient" perhaps an older looking background...or a purple cloth...would help? To convey the concept of laurel wreath clearly, more leaves closely knit together?
Overall it answers the challenge but, for me, it does little more.
Hope you don't find my comments too harsh...feel free to PM me and let me know if you do. |

You caught a pleasnat image here. Nice color and texture in the background, your subject is placed well in the frame and the head of your flower has an interesting pattern and texture.
Areas that may have hurt your score would be maybe a bit blown on the whiters of the flower. Some more detail on the larger petals could have been nice. But prbbaly the biggest thing is the lack of WOW power in the image. It has a nice simplicity to it, but that will also keep it from scoring higher IMO. Flower shots really need to be strong to score well in FS's. You have a nice and pleasing shot here and most voters felt the same way.

Oh That's Mineby sudhiComment by MattO: This is a pretty nice use of lower shutter speed to get a nice effect. Well done. |

Oh That's Mineby sudhiComment by UNTITLED: The motion blur and b&w conversion in this are just perfect. This has a life all its own and makes you feel as though you are a part of the action. Very nice photograph! |
