While this could be a good image your sky ends up ruining it. It is difficult to shoot from the shade into the sun, most cameas have a bracket function, check it out and see if a different exposure and maybe a flash could have helped this. A circular polerizer may also helped reduce the brightness too. |

Shadow Walkby ltaylorComment by loseme: *Critique Club*
Shadow walk, great title. I love the shadowing that you were able to capture, the lighting is excellent. I would be interested to see the photo cropped down a little to allow the focus to be completely on the bridge. The background takes away from the focus on the shadows cast from the bridge. It would very interesting to see this photo cropped down into a square just including the bridge. I also really like the you are shooting from the right side as opposed to the center. It would also be interesting to see the shot from a lower angle, to give more perspective on the bridge itself. Good find for the challenge and great timing to capture those shadows. |

The Mentor - (finding a new way to get back in the swing)by ltaylorComment by wavelength: I voted this low because:
1. Tonality/range. Your subjects are in the darkness and the sky is washed out. Better to take pictures into the dark than to lose them against the sky
2. Doesn't have a clear subject to begin with. If you're going to make grandpa the subject, make sure that that is clear in your composition. Likewise for the boy, but If he is the subject, then he nees to be closer in the frame, or have much less distraction (fence, grandpa, sky, house)
4 just to be sorta nice. Not trying to be to harsh, but I hate when people vote me down without telling me why, so I thought I'd tell you. |
