Make A Wishby swallaceComment by WickedB: The sky looks great but I think you should try to consider what is in the bottom half of the photograph- the fence and the tree block the setting sun and IMO clutter the bottom of the photograph. Also I guess there was some light spilling onto that tree- giving it that yellow look. |

Make A Wishby swallaceComment by raish: Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning.
Technically very good (I think), but the effort of bringing out the light on the ground has cost some resolution. 6 |

Make A Wishby swallaceComment by Olyuzi: HDR here is good and not overdone but the multi-colored stars almost look like hot pixels from long exposures and detracts, imo. Think they should have been one color. Rising/setting sun really makes this pic better and gives it another dimension. Also, I think you should have cloned out the lights in the distance background (on land). My eye is wandering around with no place to rest. |

Salute to the Rising Sunby swallaceComment by atupdate: Hello from the Critique Club:
I did not vote on this challenge so this is the first time I've looked at your entry. I'm impressed with the your timing on this shot and how well you stopped the action. I also like the off center composition. I would have given this a 6, as there are a couple of areas that come up a little short. First, with the way the lighting fall on the duck's face, I really would have liked to have seen the duck's eye in better focus. Although the wings are where the stopped action is, the lighting naturally draws the viewer's attention to the face. Second, I agree with skiprow that the picture looks a bit over sharpened. Three is a large halo effect along the back of the duck. This is often the result of over sharpening.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions regarding this critique.

Salute to the Rising Sunby swallaceComment by glad2badad: Clever title to a well shot image. Several duck/water shots in here. You've captured this one with some nice lighting, no motion blur, and the image is well focused. Job well done. Good luck in the challenge. |
