boguloComment by Paul: This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)
Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.
This is one of my 10s (I just bumped it from a 9) - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. Horse pictures normally leave me cold, but this one is special.
2. The extraordinary use of a deep depth of field. Inspired.
3. The mixed use of high and low contrast, from bottom left to top right.
4. The Icelandic feel!
5. The communication of a physical context - the image is placed in the world, and with that us too as the viewer.
6. That telegraph pole top right - it offers much in terms of offering scale and depth.
Overall, this is magnificent.
