The led flashlight has 3 small lights on the end. They were partly diffused with a white plastic bag. The effect is generated depening on how the lights are positioned in relation to the direction that the light is moving. Hopefully this helps.

Little fun trivia question, A fork has 4 prongs thats why we call it a fork... yours has three prongs is it a threek??? Just a fun question...
