This photo came from a much larger shot. When I cropped it severely to limit the photo to this surfer I ended up with a lot of noise. I wasn't planning on submitting it because I knew DPC voters wouldn't like the noise, but I reconsidered because the image looked alot like an oil or water color painting to me and I liked the effect. Her command of the wave was impressive and the background boat added another "transportation" example. So I got what I thought I would receive in terms of score (actually I scored a little higher than I expected) but the image appealed so I used it.

funny idea. seems to have too much noise. I would have prefered a more even lighting. this also goes to show that you shouldn't buy organinc peas. normal peas have been drugged into submission by the pesticides:)
