Sweet subject and it's great that you captured it looking at the camera. This appears oddly lifeless and static to me, though. I think it is the lack of sharpness in the nose and eyes, and the overall washed out quality. It's a nice capture for a personal keepsake but as a photograph it doesn't quite have the quality to grab me.
