Really, really cool shot. However, it's distracting with teh all-white background. Maybe if you left the regular background in and used a layer to blur it, it may have worked a bit better or got you a ribbon. However, it still may get a ribbon. It's definitely eye-caching and obviously took a lot of work. GOod luck!

Lovely. There is plenty in shape and features of duck head to support large negative space. The blue is almost right shade to perfectly complement orange ins rust. You might want to see what happens if you use exact complement.

Great job on watering, posing, lighting, setting aperture and speed, as well as post processing. I especially like very thin ridge of light along top of head and beak.
