lovely idea of seeing the orchid bud, coming into bloom but, I'm sure you've heard this already, the focus seems off on more than the bloom. That may have been what you intended but, it seems that the out of focus area is too large an area in the foreground and makes the focused area seem unfocused as well. Perhaps, having focused the entire foreground subject may have made this more eyecatching?

Interesting shot but I'm finding my attention split between the well lit but small and less colorful pod and the brighter, bigger but not as promenant flower. I guess I'm saying that I'm having a hard time finding your intended subject.
