Awesome composition here. I also like the colors and detail/clarity. If you wanted to sell this as a print or do a different version I'd recommend cloning out the shape on the left side (and maybe even the people on the path and the shadow on the ground). I really like this photo!

"Securing Freedom" is a wonderful addition into the Self Portrait challenge. I am a little surprised you didn't place higher, I really thought it would during voting.

Overall I personally love the piece. I think you did an excellent job of placing your subject based on the rule of thirds and allowing the light to shine through.

The time of day must have been optimal for this shot, and placing the sun directly behind your head was a great idea. The only thing I can think of is maybe the voters didn't like how dark the image got towards the bottom of the photo but that was one of the things I liked.

I wish I had more to say but I personally think you did an exceptional job!
