Comment by LindaLee:
I don't really consider a photo of an inanimate object to be a portrait, however,
that aside; I like that you photographed it against negative space. I like the basic composition, but would have preferred to see a tighter crop horizontally, probably cropping right below the lower "point" of the mane, or alternatively, a vertical shot showing the entire body. The lighting is good, and it is a nice clear photo.

Pretty good picture, don't think that the bigger black space at the left was really necessary. The lighting & exposure is very good, as well as the depth of focus.
It put a smile on my face when I saw it.

Great shot. The girl looks really familiar. I'll give you a 10.

I like it. Would have liked to see her looking into the camera though. Also a little more light on the subject and a little less in the BG... Great thought...

For me, the photo would be better if the person was also in focus.

A nice idea with great composition. I just feel it would have been better with the subject looking at the camera and looking happy!

Nice idea, but I'm not sure if the extreme DOF works.

One thing for sure you didn't have any trouble getting him to stay still. I think a little smile would have helped though. Nice everything else.

Interesting use of DOF, like the composition and the expression on the person's face.

Well.. the shot does a nice job of capturing that statue/figurine (the framing, contrast, focus and everything work well) but that's really all it does is show us a figurine, straight on with a black background. Forgive my bluntness, but I'm not personally inclined to consider that to be very valueable. 3
