Interesting idea I just wish the end of the barrel wasn't chopped off...the crop is a bit too tight.

Critique Club:

This is an adorable photo. I have a number of shots similar to this of my three children. Something about peeking around trees and fence posts and things, works well for children this age.

Aesthetics:
The top potential of this shot is sacrificed somewhat by the challenge criteria - triangle. If you zoom closer to your subject, you would get an even better portrait. Something you can try on shots like this is to use fast aperture (low number f2.8 or as low as your camera allows) That would take the grass out of focus and put all of the attention on the child.

Originality:
You don't have to do anything to a kid pic to be original. Each child is original all by themselves.

Technical:
Lighting - The sun seems to be off to the right and slightly behind the girl. This always creates a few problems. Her face is well lit. The front of the tree is dark. Most digital cameras have trouble handling very dark and very light areas in the same image.

You should experiment with "fill flash" on shots like this. Just for fun, force a flash on pictures like this to see what happens. If you keep your camera on Program mode, it will adjust the shutter speed and aperture to handle the flash. The result in this shot might be something similar to the one in the link below. The front of the tree and the right side of the face more exposed and the left side of the face less exposed.

Conclusion:
With only one photo to review, it appears you have a good eye for composing shots. I look forward to seeing more photos from you in the future.

Here is a link that shows some of the things discussed above. The first is a tight crop with simulated fill flash to help lighten the face. The second simulates a fast aperture to reduce the depth of field and blur the background. (In this case the grass)

This is a nice image. I really like how everything in this image is black and white except for the apple itself.

I don't get it... excellent quality - excellent light - excellent use of b/W - but the picture itself is not interesting to me. Anything in a picture that does not add to it, detracts from it. A person's back is in my mind not adding to this picture.

6 points from me.
