Early Morning Torchlight by SimmsComment by Simms: I am understandably very happy with the placing, thanks to all who voted and those who took the time to comment.. The lightsource was just a small, 1inch diameter, flashlight (torch to us Brits) placed behind.. I took plenty of shots then went through a lengthy selection process until I picked and cropped this pic. Strangely enough this wasn't my first idea, I was initially going to use a bottle of low calorie salad cream and use the same effect, it would of probably been called LITE-SAUCE.. (get it??) Then I remember the bonsai and thought it would make cast better shadows in the smoke.. (some of you have asked me WHY Ihave a smoke machine in the house, basically I play in a function band and we use it as part of our lighting system).. Kudos to the "Lady in Red" photo which I though would absolutely walk away with the blue ribbon this week.. I would of been more than happy to play second fiddle to that picture.. (in fact all of the top 20 photos are exceptional).. |

Early Morning Torchlight by SimmsComment by Konador: Love the rays of light. I've tried numerous times to try and get these effects? Please could you tell me how you do it? 10 - Konador |

Early Morning Torchlight by SimmsComment by shedonist: beautiful shot, but is this really using artificial light? I'll assume so, but I can't wait to read the details or post-comment voting for more info. shedonist |
