This is nice, just a little more color saturation and maybe even a slight crop off of the LH side would have strengthened the photo. I love the diagonal lines created by the ribs of the boat and its bow.

Not crazy about the border.

I'll be honest, this was not one of my favorite pictures from this challenge. Ive tried to figure it out b/c i really like sea and waterscapes so these feelings are a departure from the norm for me.

With a second examination of your pic, i guess my lack of attraction to this scene is the dominating foreground with its wild texture and color. This is not a very soothing photo like many seascapes. But then, it does fit your title well. I did give it a 6 during voting so i didn't totally slam it, it's just that normally a photo like this would garner a 7 or higher from me.

Just my .02 and honestly the picture is growing on me a little as i sit and ponder.

Again, very funny in a sick kind of way. I suppose any cat lover would rather have you in the target circle. Technically, the picture is very good. emotionally, well, i think the vote curve tells that story :)

P.S. I neither hate nor love cats so consider me neutral :)

Nice and sharp, the only giveaway that it may be at the zoo is the concrete in the BG. I would like to see a tight crop of the two heads only, maybe in a horizontal format.

Is that worm? Pretty funny. Colors/tones seem to blend together in this pic, making the overall effect rather muted in color and contrast.

This is an incredible shot, one i missed during the challenge. Good job with your DOF and i like your treatment of the clouds to give it a very moody feel. Powerful feeling as well.

Beautiful photograph. The shore's colour and texture gives me the impression of after a whale capture. Distrurbing, haunting and quietly powerful.

Greetings from the Critique Club ShutterPug!

First off let me say that I find your title and image hilarious (hope that's what you were going for) but also might have been better received in the "Clichés and Sayings" challenge.

Nice capture. Great subject matter and focus. I do believe there might be a couple of different ways to crop this:

1. A tighter crop all around, taking the trees on the left completely out of the image. As it is, my eye is drawn away from the subject to the out of focus foliage and especially the rock.
2. An off centered crop taking the vertical part of the rock out with the animals in the right third would lead you right to them.

I also think you would've placed higher if nature had cooperated. The way these two "lovers" happen to be lit and placed makes it seem like there is only one monkey but with two torsos and heads - a bit flat. You also might consider applying some unsharp mask to the animals alone to bring out some fur detail. Just lacks the elusive "pop" that the voters look for but overall I think it's a great effort and subject.

Thank you for allowing me to critique your image ShutterPug.

Cheers - Phil
