superb focus, great DOF, mabe tighten the crop a smidge on the left or not, i think this is a great image,cute lil guy(woodpecker i think) i plan on doing the feeder thing this year soon as my wallet permits,theres tons of birds around my house,and the most elusive ones are the large woodpeckers,no worries tho ill catch him!

What a lovely location and composition thereof. Looking at the picture I am asking myself what is lacking, something is, and yet I can not put my finger on it. As this is such an interesting and potentially gorgeous landscape, I would think that a deeper blue and a slightly higher curve/black/contrast could make a difference. have you ever played with the LAB colorspace? Check 'Photoshop LAB Color' by Margulis out. It is worth it. Difficult but very valuable.
