Hi! I thought I'd comment since you didn't know why, and my reasons for not scoring this well are completely different than mosall's (below). The lack of a focal point or haziness didn't bother me - my favorite in this challenge was a blurry mess (Apparition by inshaala). However, this put me off because the colors and shapes. It did seem to be food or drink, and it looked really gross to me. Extremely unappetizing, and I didn't want to look at it for long.

Still, I wouldn't listen to me much - my favorite scored a 4.9.

You commented you had no idea why this scored a four. Let me explain my logic. While this is abstract and clearly is macro, I don't see a clear focal point. To me abstract macro does not mean "hazy". Good effort but in my opinion this is not as successful as others you have done.

I think it's a cup of something gross and a reminder to always look before drinking. As a macro, I think it's a fairly good example. The photo seems slightly pale and I think could use a touch more contrast. I do like this however in a sick sort of way. I think you've done a nice job: 9
