I would agree with nixter, the unusual crop on this foto is a problem & consideration during edit, but also was to a great extent dictated by restrictions of the lens, by a rather uncomfortable shooting position and narrow angle of view. The picture was made through the passenger window of my pickup just as I had pulled up next to this child who was sitting along the road side. His head severely cropped on the bottom - is due mainly to the fact that the inside door of my vehicle is actually what would have been seen had I lowered the lens.
The young boy spoke no understandable language, except possibly to children under the age of 2. He was alone, but two friendly ankle biter dogs apparently had been accompanying him on a journey. They all were playing together in the ditch.
I made a few pictures, but I do like this one the best, where he first recognized and acknowledged my presence. He is indeed as jdannels states "...peering in at you and not the other way around."
His mother appeared quarter of an hour after I had stopped. The child had wandered about a half mile from his home.

There is a nostalgic aura to this.
Even though this is a group you have captured an individuality to each subject.
The girl with the bucket sets this off extremely well.
Very nice job!!
