I've been a bit behind with my commenting, so sorry for only now getting round to it. What intrigues me most about this image is it is tack sharp and yet it appears to have been taken with a soft focus lens. As I see it, only the very foreground is soft. I really like the effect of this. I love the b&w conversion. Well spotted.

I do not prefer the color. I very much prefer the black and white. The range of tones almost appear to have color, though I suspect it is indeed truly grayscale. To me it has texture, a soft glow. The color version doesn't do that for me. And I truly do not understand the score.

I really like these "slice of life" type shots, especially when taken with a wide lens like that.
