I like the angle, and the colours are nicely balanced. Unfortunately the chroma noise reduction has bled some yellow into the green, and there's still some luminance noise - the green would look even better if the background was silky smooth. But overall, it's still one my top picks.

I think you may be trying to depict overall desolation of the African continent, but not sure it comes across. Without the challenge description attached, this is just a shot of a globe.

Definitions of desolation on the Web:

*devastation: the state of being decayed or destroyed
*bleakness: a bleak and desolate atmosphere; "the nakedness of the landscape"
*forlornness: sadness resulting from being forsaken or abandoned
*devastation: an event that results in total destruction
