Majestic Outakeby AlexSaberiComment by pineapple: I think I rather like the full animal, this version, rather than your challenge entry which was of the chest and head of the animal. This is rather an exceptional photo - but not sure if it would have had such a good result in the challenge. One thing, this one looks a bit less processed than your challenge winner. |

Majestic Outakeby AlexSaberiComment by Melethia: Your use of shallow DOF (whether in camera or post is immaterial) along with B&W really makes this a very strong, dynamic photograph. (And having read the Richmond GTG thread, I know now how you get such great shots of these guys - they don't seem to mind having photogs around!) |

MAJESTIC by AlexSaberiComment by funkin: Superb. When I saw it on the homepage I thought, "that's like the deer in Richmond Park", and then that's where its from. Wonderful. |

Fouziaby AlexSaberiComment by e301: This is strong, honest, sensitive photography; I don't think you've done anything to sentimentalise your subject, nor her predicament; and yet I don't think this is an image without sympathy - as one would think of Diane Arbus' work, for instance. The concentration of attention on her lower legs and feet is powerful, and effective: giving one that sense of being forced to avoid her face, to avoid meeting her gaze, just as would be one's immediate reaction if one met her in the street, say. The towel between her knees speaks of the misunderstood problems of palsy, without making a big deal of it. Some other comments also make clear another impact of this disease - the removal of, aberration of sexuality, which is perhaps even colder an impact. |

Up in Smokeby AlexSaberiComment by Kavey: Wow, interesting way of framing... I don't like the choice of fur-lined hood - I think the texture of that fur detracts from the smoke itself framing the face. Like the way the detail and light is clear around his eyes. |
