Wating for Summerby tryggvimarComment by kanaj: Gorgeous. I'm not sure how you managed to get both the foreground ice detail and the background tree to share focus like that, but it's quite striking for this composition. |

Pure Joy by tryggvimarComment by glad2badad: Originally posted by tryggvimar: Originally posted by glad2badad: This looks like a lovely portrait session. I don't know why, but I feel like I'm looking for more stories in this challenge rather than setup shots. Sorry. It is a very good photo. |
It's a (very) short story :) But I understand your point completly, but I felt that in this case his genuine expression was quite enough to tell a story of joy. |
Thanks for understanding. I had the challenge description stuck in my head and was thinking more along the lines of candid, live, street, event scenarios. Using a studio portrait shot never even crossed my mind when thinking about what image to use for this challenge. I'm glad it did well for you and for your friend. |

The topic was Faces of Emotion, why would it need to be telling a story as you define it? Why couldn't it be a studio portrait? This is a very fine face full of emotion!
