| Juvenile Summer Tanager?by amjltComment by cpanaioti: The background has some nice patterns, shapes and muted colours however I feel that it needs to be softened a bit (less DOF) so the bird stands out more.  That being said, red, being a strong colour, helps draw the viewer to your subject. |

| Juvenile Summer Tanager?by amjltComment by cconlin: I think it's a male (young) rose-breasted grosbeak actually, but I could be wrong! great capture!!! The bokeh - background is almost too skewed to add to the shot - it seems kaleidoscope-ish, psychadelic, and kind of detracts from the bird/wire subject. Perhaps a closer crop would eliminate that distraction? |

| Juvenile Summer Tanager?by amjltComment by ozerion: Beautiful shot, the shot would be much better if the bird were in focus.  I suspect that the original was in better focus, but post processing and scaling to meet submittal requirments hurt. |
