I like the angle you have chosen however the image doesn't really stand out to me ... I find the twig at the top a little odd, I guess it's meant to be there .... may have worked better if the words had stood out more though the fact the stone is nearly 200 years old would make that hard to correct! Maybe a flash would have cast a shadow to make the words stand out

This comes close to not meeting the challenge. The removal of the very bright orange needles at the left would make the color less obtrusive.

Nice composition. The motion blur is a little too subtle for me, but the way rowers move probably makes them one of the more difficult subjects to catch at the longer speeds.
