In part it's almost a cool geomeric abstract, but its also just the side of building. Details like the projecting roofline, and patio umbrella detract from the simple powerful forms

How 'bout some sugar instead? Nice photo...I think the border is a tad too much. Maybe if it had a thin black line to divide it up some. Good luck to ya!

White frame around photo is distracting but overall a beautiful picture that captures a beautiful moment.

a gripping, immediate portrait. sometimes it's a boundary that allows us to get truly close.

that is certainly true! in this case the fence ended just above his head and he let us pet him after the shot, but it def doesn't look that way in the photo!

i have to say that i disagree with your analysis of the photo. altho i can understand finding it uninteresting (personal preference is fine by me), i think the composition is just what it should be. the shallow DOF and narrow band of focus keep the eye from following the leading lines of the fence out of the frame. besides, this photo is about the drops on the fence. nothing else. the fact that the viewer must focus on one little aspect of the shot is meant to hold interest in the micro scale of the photo.

can somebody please tell me how raindrops on a fence don't suggest rain?
