The lighting seems a little harsh. Also the orange in the background on the right really distracts me also. On the lighting situation on the left it is kinda dark elsewhere it is not. To me that is very distracting. Not much detail there in the flowers as I would like to see. Also if you use Photoshop make the image larger. What will hurts you more than anything in any challenge is having an image too small. If I had a chance to shoot this I would try to get into a postion to only get one flower in the shot as I feel it would have more punch.

Nice tones in this shot. What I think hurt you was the image seems a little dark and is slightly tilted to the left. Also the black border is lost in the image. I would have put a thin white border then the black border just to seperate it from the image.

This is a good capture. Great highlights in the eyes, excellent crisp sharpness and it is a great choice to go B&W with this shot.

The idea pf the shot is excellent.. its well creative mind of a photographer..

i saw you dont have a knowckout camera. and i beleive only in reflex.. but for the seting i must add some thing which will defenetly make your work much much better:
Iso: 50 (just te righ one.. small iso fo less grain and beter quality)
shutter: 1/30
F/stop: 3.5 !!!!!!!!! - y? there is no reason to go for that f stop..
higher as you go the image will be sharper. then you can get focus on the trail and get a desent sharp image on the background..unless you did that on purpuse.

so what could you do: raise the iso 200 and keep the sutter around 1/30 but then the iso will let you bring the f/stop for like 14.
second: just put a small tripod.. low iso, highest f/stop and then the sutter time: whatever!! coz you got a tripod..
hope i helped...

This is an interesting effect and works well with the colors here, but I am having trouble seeing this hanging in a home. The effect is just a bit to "intense" for my tastes.

I would like to see what the original image looked like before the effect was applied.

I did not vote on this image so I can't tell you that but, in a challenge I would give you a 5. My reasoning would be that you don't have any 'whites' or 'blacks,' just every shade in between. Essentially, I wish for more contrast - it looks to be in a slight haze as it is. Nothing 'pops' because there is not enough contrast. I think the image is composed fairly well though it feels slightly tilted (higher on left). The frame works for the image. The subject is in focus and oyu have an excellent POV.

The greens and reds almost seem to clash with the muted "older" colors.

Fit Challenge Criteria: 1/2
Contrast/Color: 1/2
Composition: 2/2
Photo Quality: 1/2
My Subjective Affinity: 1/2

This is a nice image, but it doesn't hit the spot for a greeting card. The idea is nice, and it would be a good personal gift, but not something I would buy in a store.

As for the technical aspect, I like the soft focus and the composition, but it is a little busy, and the 50 doesn't stand out quite enough.
