Wow what a tough exposure. Your white is a little blow out (back of her hat) while the background is a bit too dark. Also I think that you're a touch oversaturated. The Amish wear clothes that tend to be subdued in colors and this makes her dress look too bright.

Would be a lovely photo if the baby's expression was more co-operative. Here, it really makes me want to laugh at how much he/she didn't want the photo to work. I don't think the square crop works here. Conversion to b&w hasn't gone well... did you use the channel mixer in PS? Shame the clothes are overexposed, this takes attention away from the faces. Baby's face is also slightly overexposed. Looks like onboard flash was used, which is not good. Buy an external flash!
