Good job on this capture, I am sure it was tough to get. I think there could be a little more clarity on the face.

Heh! Good title - I'm sure birds everywhere were wondering what the heck was going on. Pretty good capture of this guy - to truly excel, he'd need to be a bit sharper and ideally have some texture to the sky behind. I do like the light through the wings - that's always neat to see.

Very nice capture, his face on the left side is a little funny though. Could well be my monitor. Fabulous in flight capture though and good crop.8

Keep in mind that voters see a lot of photos and when they see so many that are very sharp and even oversharpened anything less may appear to be undersharpened even when it's not. So you may want to sharpen with that in mind. For me that's fine.

That aside, what I don't like about this photo is the lighting and the tonal range in general. The detail isn't strong in the shadows and the highlights particularly the snow is too bright. I think if you were able to light up the inside of that barn more either with a lower sun or artificial lighting it would have a greater impact.

It is a beautiful shot. I think for DPC sakes, more post-processing would have really upped the score. I hope you don't mind, but I messed with it a little for fun. I am not great at post-processing. <---- Disclaimer. I desaturated the trees a bit, to give more focus to the barn. Who knows if it would have gotten a higher score or not! Either way, you have a nice shot.

Nice framing, but there is a lack of contrast and sharpness that really hurts the shot.

Looks pretty good to me. The only thing that I don't really like about the photo is the border. I like the snow, the shadows, the composition... but hey - my image did bad, so who knows, right?! :)~Magen
