Wheatby jjbeguinComment by zeuszen: I'm probably responsible for a share of the number of views (above). This photo has been on my short list of photos yet to be imitated. I have found suitable locations and subjects, but no way to produce such impeccable balance between the givens of the raw shots and the 'feel' of a final 'made' version.
One thing, I believe, I have learnt from looking at this image, is that each individual photo determines an appropiately individual manner of processing. Even though nature provides imagery, our conscious perception of it does benefit from a selective ' way of seeing' conducive to such profound delight.
Despite an (apparently) inconsequential loss of some detail due to bold contrasting, both image and subject retain their respective integrity. The vast perspective range given here, instead, seems to have been amplified by this process (the orderly flux of the stems dissolving into a sea of ears).
Despite so many words, the photo leaves as much of a mystery as it reveals.

Positive Space by jjbeguinComment by KevinRiggs: Now the border works on this shot. This is a technically good photo as well as a moving artistic expression. Whether its a place where I would worship or not, it has atmosphere and depth in the tones of the shadows and the definition o fthe walls and supports. One thing that might count against it is that the alcove/doorway that is in darkness in the lower right seems to have something in it that is distracting. If this were printed I'd think the "blemish" might be someone's thumbprint after eating some potato chips or something. It isn't solid but it is distracting. Still, this is a very high scoring photo. Good capture. How many did you have to take to come away with this one? |

Positive Space by jjbeguinComment by zeuszen: Dynamic perspective, fine crop (taking into account the respective weights in the image), great rendering and display of this fugue of variable light!
A profound joy and a model of a photograph! |

Positive Space by jjbeguinComment by Azrifel: Love it how the line of better lighted arches lead the eye across the frame,
Very nice exposure and toning, the focus remains on the lighter cross section whereas the darker parts fill in the details so that you know what you are looking at. Lower right and upper left corners are slightly darker, works well.
Nice subtle framing.
Great job! |
