I wrote the above comment in 2004, and happened to come back to this image now, and think the comment is a complete load of crap. Funny.

I think the contrast is right on, it's a tricky image with the shadows and light being so varied.

Vincent is a fantastic model, I must say. I think he embodies so well what so many portraits miss in their subjects - honesty. Art is always searching for honesty, and your photos of Vincent provide such a clear. truthful honesty that you can't help but want to meet Vincent!

I'll admit, I don't completely understand the inclusion of the phone...but it looks good. ;) The lighting is well diffused and the crabs are well placed; there seems to be a distinct interacton with the phone.
