On their wayby jjbeguinComment by posthumous: I love the composition, with the "subject" just on the border of being too small to be a subject... but the eyes are led there by the composition. And the shadows, though they don't necessarily dominate, are crucial to the composition. And the silhouetting reminds us of the shadows. 10. |

On their wayby jjbeguinComment by mpeters: Lots of good shadows although the primary subject(the shadows of the people??) doesn't stand out as much as i would like. Still, nice picture with interesting light and shadow. 7 |

Description: Creatively capture a shadow
Advanced Edit
On their way
Fit: Clearly meets the challenge 1
Aesthetics: OK composition 1
The number of curves in the image sems to confuse rather than underpin the central massage of the picture. Also may benefit from cropping out some of the bottom of the image and maybe a little of the left edge too.
Technical: Technically OK 1
Feels too under-exposed in the shadows and not enough contrast for me
Wow: Has some impact 1
Just too much going on for the image to come through.
Total Score = 4 |

On their wayby jjbeguinComment by indy79: lovely photo, great use of "space", contrast and lines draw the attention to the subject in the corner. |

Wheatby jjbeguinComment by jfriesen: This is much like the tonal perfection of Ansel Adams! This is by far, one of the best nature/landscape photos I have seen on DPC |

On their wayby jjbeguinComment by ubique: I love the almost-gone placement of the human subjects; they are clearly the focus of the image while being surrounded, perhaps even pursued, by imposing symbols. This permits all sorts of interesting allegorical interpretations, particularly when the possible meanings of the bars, the roadway and the shadows are brought into play! The image can represent adolescence, or graduation, or birth, or even death. No interpretation is certain though, and that's what I like most about this photograph. 8. |
