The light is lovely, and you have maximised the colour of the 'turned' leaf beautifully. I am less keen on the inclusion of the drooping leaf that seems to be pushing its way into the fore-ground.

Really fine image, Rachel. Congratulations on the yellow. The title is perfect. A visceral feeling in the pit of the stomach. The "fibers" appear to be pulling apart as it tries to forestall the oncoming conflagration (my interpretation). To me it conveys courage, pathos and nobility.
