RKTComment by Paul: This is my 2000th comment - at 1000 comments I visited a portfolio of work that I greatly admired, found an image I liked that had no comments and offered one. I'm here, at your portfolio at 2000 comments largely because of the following image:
Without doubt it is the image on DPC that I return to most often just to look at; and of course the overall quality of your portfolio (in terms of just flat out interesting images) is truly amazing.
And so for this photograph:
How apt that there are stars in the image because the scene seems to sparkle somehow, the bright light on her face catching a twinkle. There are so many elements I could point to that interest me - her stance, the Dean Martin picture, the shadowy foreground figure, skateboards(??) on the wall - all compelling. But most of all, it is the life you have communicated - the fact that it is in monochrome almost passed me by, so immersed in the scene I have found myself.
Anyway, I run the risk of becoming boring! It suffices to say that I am a fan! I hope you don't mind too much in being singled out in this way. I really enjoy your work.
