Slipby RKTComment by ubique: Lilac-hued memories. Such a beautiful sentiment: the figurative fondly masquerading as the literal. It's beautiful. So is the photograph. Thank you. |

Scruffyby RKTComment by insteps: A cold scene with warm tones. Is that snow or digital dust? No focal point, not that one is needed, so my eye lands on the dead sculptural tree. Works well in a square. |

Slipby RKTComment by posthumous: the implied star works well with the square frame. the star isn't real of course. the shape is imaginary, evoked by where fabric overlaps and blocks light, and it's also incomplete, cut off by the square ... except it's not cut off by the square. there is no rest of the star, we only imagine a rest of the star because it's cut off. this is how ghosts work, and the mind, and politics, and everything else. |

faithby RKTComment by posthumous: thank you for gracing us with this instead of winning a ribbon in a challenge (you did that anyway, so who needs this one?)
I like most the disorienting angle. faith is vertiginous, the hope that if we get dizzy enough someone will catch us.
and yes, well composed for the square. a very bold diagonal indeed, pointed to heaven. |

Mayapples, Cades Cove, GSMNP April 2018by RKTComment by Teafran: This is near perfect. The combination of muted colors, the near 3D effect, the subtle lighting on the lowland veld - beautiful. I think a crop to the top of the mountain would improve this image. Still, a beautiful image. |
