I love this photograph. If ever there was a short story masquerading as a picture, this is it. Could be one of the best, most ambitious photographs ever at DPC because it uses no artifice at all; nothing beyond a clear vision beautifully realised. And nothing else needed. 10, and what else? The first thing that grabbed my attention was the framing. Intentionally limiting what we know about this places surroundings. The cool tones and few clumps of unkept shrubs are not very inviting. The single tree in the distance offers some hope. Your notes on the image help narrow the story.

It's a disappointing score but you knew it was an unconventional image when you decided to enter. I'm glad you did! If this image score 6 or higher I probably wouldn't have comment or spent more that a few seconds taking it in.

I would not have realized this was moonlight without the title - but a second pass reveals the wonderful starts. Seems cut off on the sides, though.
