Rocky Creek by joannsComment by HBunch: Like a post card. Very nice. I really like how the snow coveres everything and makes the tree branches droop. Normally, I'm not fond of the blown out white sky, but I think it works in this shot. It's a foggy kind of look, and I think it fits with the overall effect of the shot. The angle and framing/cropping are really good. Focus and clarity are great as well. Great job. Good luck in the challenge. |

Rocky Creek by joannsComment by PTLParsons: This is beautiful and so well in focus. I love how you have cropped it making a frame for the creek. I'll take your word that there is a creek down there. I would love to see this in color also - there greenery coming thru the snow. I'd give this an 8 easily. PTL |

Rocky Creek by joannsComment by alanfreed: Beautiful! I was hoping for a similar snowstorm here for this challenge, but it didn't happen. The snow on the trees is just great -- way to go! |

Rocky Creek by joannsComment by Froober: I love the trees fading into the fog in the background...beautiful effect. But (eek) the big tree in the foreground disturbs me...feels like it's blocking my view of something incredible. |

Rocky Creek by joannsComment by FranziskaLang: challenge met. i really like how the trees seem to be fading into the background ... as if they are going on forever. truly w/out the hand of man! i also like the contrast between the dark rocks and trees and the white snow, you have achieved a very good tonal range here w/out blowing anything out. the only small criticism i have (and that's not even part of the photo and just personal taste) is the small white border. i feel it should be larger or not there at all. it also somehow looks wider at the bottom than on the sides (optical illusion, i'm sure). overall, nice entry! |
