Your black background makes this look like an alien on another planet. Cool. I wish the bug were more in focus or was clearer in some way, though. Super use of contrasts and light.

Composition: Interesting angle of shot. Could do with rotating a few degrees counter-clockwise.
Technical: The over-exposed sky draws the eye quite a lot. The whole pic is in focus, so you could have focused high up on the building so the camera thinks "oh, it's bright", then drag the camera down with the button half pressed. This would mean the sky isn't so white. Otherwise, the colouring is quite nice.
Meets challenge: Mostly.
Overall impression: Good effort. Practice with exposure will help a lot.

There isn´t any one thing that really draws the eye too, and there is no real point which is interesting in the picture. The pic should have been rotated a bit to correct the tilt and the crop does not do it for me.

Image is a bit harsh making the subject a little confusing. Looks like an interesting metamorphosis scenario here. The composition could have been improved by filling the frame more with the critter.
