It would have been more interesting to me if you included a view of some of the skaters in action. It is generally not a great idea to show everyone in a group of people looking off-camera unless you involve the viewer by showing what everyone is looking at, or unless one of the subjects is looking at the camera in some way which draws the viewer in, or looking off in an unexpected direction that adds something humorous to the shot. This sort of shot tends to be very impersonal to the objective viewer.

REally like the flare on this one. It works to define the body edge against the bright sky.

I'm not much for receiving or giving comments, but since Candids are
near and dear to my heart, I have decided to give comment on every entry
in this challenge.

I like the b/w conversion. The lighting is good. Decent focus. I don't find a lot of interest here though in the faces. I think I would rather see what they are looking at. LOL...It's an ok candid. Just a 5 for me though.

Great shot. Great sharpness and detail and the selective sat works well. Great score especially considering the kid factor ( I wasnt as fortunate). And along with some of the other middling masses scores - those votes below 4 are just not appropriate. What are they voting on?

What a fun picture. Seriously. I just wish that there wasn't such a strong bias against the venerable Rubber Ducky who has put in such service on this website and in photography in general. Might have been a fun picture with something else, but what would have been yellow?

Nice shot.

This is an incredible shot! The clarity and contrast in the black and white is exceptional - I'm really hoping you did one without the ducky to hang on the wall! The addition of the ducky is nice to meet the challenge, and the use of color in just the duck works well for this shot.

This is an awesome shot, but I think it is hurt by the TOTAL desat on the baby. Leaving a bit of a yellow colorization, or a slight sepia, would have balanced it better IMHO. This polarizes the ducky so much that it no longer seems to belong in the photo.

I did not vote on this one either, but would most likely have given it another 6, very nicely done, there is a VERY SLIGHT halo effect I see on this monitior around her "skirt" and the hair ribbon is a very slight distraction to me, because it is SO white also. Not a great fan of selective desat, but this is really one of the best I have seen! Think you did well with it, and not much to improve on, IMO!!
