Originally, this reviewer saw this as just another candid moment presented in snapshot format. On review, it's clear that this is much more than average and is a perfect moment in a child's life. All technical aspects are well controlled and the simple act of the child holding the stick appearing to direct the ball to do something is terrific. Additionally, the child is visually appealing. Originally a 7, this is being rerated as an 8. A good solid entry into the challenge.

A little diffusion on the light would still give it good texture. The bright spots add interest but I think a diffused light would have worked better. Good job getting clarity and dof while being in so close.

An image that demonstates the subject matter of the challenge in spectacular fashion with excellant DOF and color control. Both a technical and artistic success that more than adequately meets the challenge subject in particular with the green color shades. A very worthy contender for top ten honors and a possible ribbon contender.
