Three's Companyby GermaineComment by Ken: Good job getting the birds to really stand out and demand the viewer's attention. This is classic Germaine. I don't see it mentioned in the other comments, but it appears that there's a bit of sensor dust (especially to left of birdies).

Breakwaterby GermaineComment by Alicia: Wonderful scene with the flags, the reflections and the bird. For my taste, the overlay is a little heavy, suppressing the actual image. |

Departureby GermaineComment by Melethia: This is one of those shots that I love to linger on. The first thing is "INN" - acts as an introduction to the play one is about to witness. Next, of course, is the couple, and they're worth more than a casual glance, not only as the principal actors, but simply for who they are. The colorful patterned pants on both indicate a complete level of comfort with who they are, who've they've grown together to become. The side actors - the plant on the right. Not sure of its role, but it is essential to the plot, I'm quite sure. The reflections. To me these are indications of the past. Then the open door. Things yet to come. The somewhat worn look of the "theater" is a sad reminder that things yet to come have a shorter timeline than those that have past. And yes, I get all of this from this single picture. What a delightful presentation! |

Nocturneby GermaineComment by ErinM: The texture adds depth and moodiness to the image, as well as a nice sense of movement. |

Breakwaterby GermaineComment by ErinM: That line of flags makes for such a nice composition, especially with the reflections. |

Classic Barber Shopby GermaineComment by Ken: This is a great subject for the b&w treatment. I find it funny that they have to declare themselves "classic", even though it looks totally classic... This wouldn't be nearly the same photo without the bicycle either. |
