The rock between the two objects add a menacing possibility. |

Symmetry by GermaineComment by nam: You cheated :)
Ah, just read the description. I LOVE looking for faces in this kind of creation - you can almost always find them in the middle. We had a challenge like this once - it was very interesting. Here, in the leaves themselves, I see a dancing Native American in full headdress. And in the grass below, a Texas longhorn??!! |

Still Life with Hatsby GermaineComment by Ecce_Signum: Love it, the colours are divine. I know I'm going to get accused of being a peeping Tom now looking in everybodies windows and snapping what I see! |

Through the Glassby GermaineComment by posthumous: I know this is a rather obvious thing to say, but I think you should crop right down into the good part. making it off center is better than centering it, but removing the wall altogether on some or all sides might work better. |

Still Life with Hatsby GermaineComment by nam: I cheated this time and read Rich's comment first. I was already wondering about the "texture" on the glass - he thinks hoarfrost, I thought either just a very dirty window or an added texture and I think I'll still go with the latter as it seems to spread to the wood and window trim, unifying the whole very nicely. So maybe hoarfrost or heavy grime on the glass plus weathered and dirty wood, all emphasized in post.
To me the mood here is sad. This looks to be the window of a long-closed shop, one run by a woman who, one day, got too old to do it anymore and just walked away. |
