The Choosen Oneby roadrunnerComment by Artifacts: Leading lines or curves generally have two purposes. One is to lead the viewer into the scene. The other is to lead you toward the main subject. It is most effective if they come in from the lower left because that is the natural direction humans visually scan a picture from so are easiest to pick up.
Attention is drawn to both the opening in the clouds which is into the scene AND the silhouetted horizon. |

The Choosen Oneby roadrunnerComment by Kelliloo: If the top of the tree were a bright green and the rays alittle brighter, this shot would be a money maker! Good job! |

Very old item and perfectly colored, wish the lighting wasn't quite so bright on the top left of the item but probably hard to control. For some reason, I like that it isn't centered exactly top to bottom but is left to right. Can't wait to see what this is from.
Good luck |

The Choosen Oneby roadrunnerComment by ubique: This is very effective use of leading lines on a couple of levels. First there's the beams of sunlight, of course. But there's also the near mirror-image of the hill and the clouds, which also work together to concentrate the viewer's attention on the same central area. I also like the fact that you're confident enough to know when to put aside the rule of thirds & go for a symmetrical composition, which is just right for this image. 9 |
