Slow As Molassesby ladyhawk22Comment by BigK: Very simple, clean shot. If anything I would just say it lacks a little "firepower" in terms of visual appeal, but technically it's more than sound! |

Sunflowerby ladyhawk22Comment by Rebecca: Yay sunflowers! Aren't sunflowers great? Such fantastic texture in their centers! I love partial flower shots, too, where you get in and get to see the detail. :-D |

Ringsby ladyhawk22Comment by puzzled: Oh no! You have an entry without a single comment?! Here's one from me - hope you don't take offense, but know that it is meant with the best intentions, even if I am no dazzling photographer myself:-)
I think the subject is so simple and straightforward that it has potential. Would probably be really fun to experiment with different lighting and composition with the same setup. It's also the perfect kind of composition to practice post-processing skills with. I didn't vote on this image, but if I had, I might have given it a 4 or a 5, and probably towards the 4 side. The lighting is a bit harsh and that really takes my attention away from whatever the subject is (the rings in this case). The repetitive idea is good. Still, I think that for the repetition to appeal to me (I can only speak for myself), it would have to be more. Alternatively, just one ring on a white background could be worth considering. But four rings is not enough to give me a defining pattern, nor is it few enough to give me a place to rest my poor old eyes. If the line of rings were at a diagonal, I think it could also add interest.
Whew. This is one of my longest comments ever. Hope you don't mind the rambling! Please PM me if what I say doesn't make sense, or even if you would like me to ramble some more :-) |

Slow As Molassesby ladyhawk22Comment by AllanL: I think this might have been better if the molasses didn't drip yet, but still clinging onto the spoon. The head of the spoon doesn't clearly show the amount of molasses. Did you get a chance to try different lighting angles? I like the simplicity of the shot. |
