I like the line of the dock leading throught the frame and also the lovely colour of the water, although I feel that it could do with an extra hit of sharpening to bring it all out a bit more.

This is a very good choice of subject. Has interest and appeal, and good lines IMO for this challenge. To me it seems that at a different time of day, or on a different day, this could make a great photo. In this lighting it seems like the sky especially and even the water and colors in general are kind of flat and washed out. Definitely a good eye and strong compositionally.

Good example of showing the character of the metal. However it seems to be a little busy with the bright metal above a below the spring.
