This is very nice. I love the composition. I really like the gradations of light and shadow. It does a pretty good job of capturing texture. There are some who will not appreciate the grain inthe background. I happen to like it and believe it gives it character and captures a texture all its own. It looks to me like you may have dust on your sensor leading to quite a few artifacts which distract from this otherwise very worthy photo.

Personally, I don't see a lot of texture here. Also, the egg looks rather dirty for a shot that had to be set up.
