I like this very much. I find myself often using myself as a model and I think it's a good idea. It helps you learn to capture a bit of yourself in an image which will help you when photographing other people. You did a good job with this. I don't mind the clutter as it seems organic and ads to the realness of the scene.

Nice shot, especially for the challenge. Just a tip - with a bright sky like this in the background, expose for the sky (or at least a couple stops down) so you get more detail in the plume/smoke. You can adjust shadow contrast later in post-processing if the rocks turn out too dark. Or try just cropping out the sky altogether in this one.

This is a neat image. I like how it goes from a beautiful sky..to lovely mountains... to gloomy rocks and then a bright green plant. Its different but i like it.
