Well first off, I'm glad you had a chance to try out the telephoto for this challenge. Unfortunately, I think this image got slammed, not due to any technical deficiency but rather voters may not have seen the connection to the challenge. I myself see it but there were probably better opportunities to be had.

That being said the itself is OK. Its really hard to get a shot of the moon to stand out. You got the exposure right on I think which is the hard part for most people. I suspect you used a tripod based on the sharpness of the image and the relatively slow shutter speed you used. F/8 might have been a better choice for aperture as that is usually the sharpest aperture on most lenses. (Then again, I think at this size of image it probably wouldn't be that noticeable.)

I think that maybe putting the moon into a cold landscape or somehow reinforcing the cold theme would have helped push this image up a few points. (I can actually imagine an ice cold drink in the foreground with this cold moon in the background. Imagine how that would have looked!)

The thing that I notice right off the bat is the size, the size limit on images has been increased to 800x800 pixels maximum and 300kb size. I see that you only have two recent entries and more before the size update. I apologize if you already know of the size increase.

The foreground seems a bit blurry, but that might just be because of the darkness. I feel that there isn't anything interesting in this picture other than the moon, would have liked to see more of the moon and water with less land.
