Gróttaby marvinComment by Jutilda: I like this very much. The leading line is well achieved. The rich blues with the hints of brown work so well as complementary colors. You couldn't have created better clouds for this shot. 8 |

Destination Winterby marvinComment by zapgrafx: Greetings from the Critique Club
Boy there’s not much I can say about this image that Dahkota didn’t already say. Her suggestions are exactly what I would recommend save adding another tree. I think the birch in the foreground on the right and the lack of a corresponding (Oak? I think) on the opposite side is what really draws your eye into the image.
I would have scored this image a 10. Your title is dead on for the challenge especially with the contrast with changing colors in the leaves. I feel a mood from this photograph of hurry up and get outside while we can still enjoy it.
I hope this information is helpful in some small way. Best regards, Michele

Sympathyby marvinComment by taterbug: I think this is a good concept, and fits the challenge well. I'm feeling that it could be strengthened in it's presentation though. The lighting seems a little flat. Perhaps shooting at a different time, catching a more acute angle of light, it could add some shadows to the statue, showing some texture and creating a sense of depth. I'm also thinking maybe if the frame didn't cut off the feet/base of the statue it could help. And, maybe a more dramatic angle/pov would be more stimulating. |
