I appreciate everyone's remarks!!! I don't think I really used any of the camera settings...just the default settings on it. And I did very little adjustment to either pic afterwards. I also use a program called PhotoFiltre that I downloaded free on the web....again thanks and keep the comments coming...they help sooooo much!!! Thanks

Agreeing with other posters, its soft. You haven't noted down the camera settings which could tell us why.
Again here also you could possibly get more with saturation increase

its a bit low on contrast. You can possibly use a smaller aperture to slow down shutter and get a silky smoothe water. Increase the color saturation a bit

yes, you've definitely captured the end of summer feel.
But I do agree with Mike that the focus is soft.
Maybe some Photoshop would make it "pop"?

Excellent concept behind this image, definitely speaks of fall and the coming change in seasons, focus appears a bit soft, but that might just be my monitor. Nice Job!
