Sleeping... so adorable!by MatthewComment by dragonlady: I liked your creativity, I did give it a 5. I have seen the Aibo robot, but this was so cropped it didn't look like a dog...I even thought it was a computer mouse on a cradle of some sort...I am getting a little senile I guess. Sleeping... so adorable!by MatthewComment by Matthew: I am a bit disappointed with this result - I have learnt a few lessons. In particular, not giving a relatively obtuse picture an even more obtuse title.
For those that asked, it is a Sony robotic pet - an Aibo.

I was in slightly constrained circumstances, and felt that the tight crop, shallow DoF, was necessary in order to achieve the idea of "portrait".
For a group of people on the edge of photographic technology, I am shocked that so many people were so ill-informed about the latest in robotic entertainment - but won't hold it against you :-). |

Eye "Q" by MatthewComment by rex: Nice photo. I love the long exposure time. To me probably one of the best in this challenge. You have a nice neutral background and everything is in good focus here. Night shots in my opinion are always difficult to accomplish dead on and you have done this. As far as edits I don't know what all you have done as the voting is still going while I am commenting on this. I also relly like the reflection on the wet road. Only two things I see that bother me is how you cropped on the right so close to the building. Also the specs I see in the photo. This could be dust specs on your lense and it really hurts it. If it had not been for the dust specs I would have given you a 10. Giving you a 9 anyway. |
