Nice dramatic lighting, good freezing of the waves. The road to IJburg, the killing of Durgerdam's view on the Zuiderzee. :(

Very unusual. The waves are swaying with the bridge. What about if it were a little lighter, I think it would have been excellent with more light.

In my opinion, this does not meet the challenge, which required that the subject be naturally occurring (not manufactured in any way).

As a photograph, this is pretty sweet. However, there are a few things that are worth saying: have a look along the top - you seem to be having some severe barrel distortion (the line along the top - the two windows in particular). You can solve this by zooming in a little bit (I am assuming you shot this on full wide angle?) and walking further back. If you look at the bottom of the building, your camera was a few degrees to the left also - both are really composition issues, but they do make the pic look a bit scruffy, I think.

As for the picture itself: Great shot, but not a lot of yellow - which was probably what cost you a place in the top10 this week. Keep trying! :)

I really like this photo. It's very moody and conveys a strong sense of place. It works for me on the level of art... I would love to have a big print of this on my wall... but as a stock photo I'm not sure it works. Still, I love it too much not to give it a 10!

I fel that this one is just too busy. What is the main subject? Is it the tree, the people, the houses, or the bicycles, or even the sun? I heard a simple picture is the hardest to take. 5

Those people are wondering why you are taking their photos :-) I like this photo but I have the feeling that the colour version would have done it more justice. Or maybe you could have played around with the channel mixer a little to bring out more tones in the image, it is a tad too dark the building walls. You couldn't couldn't have increased the brightness anymore because the sun is already a little blown out at the top of the tree. This is a typical problem with shooting into the sun.
